St. John’s Wort Extract Organic

St. John’s wort is an herbaceous perennial that grows wild along roadsides and in disturbed meadows. It is a native of Europe and a naturalized dweller of temperate climates worldwide. It bears bright, lovely yellow flowers that are evocative of the sun. The blossoms are typically harvested near the beginning of the flowering cycle on St. John’s Day, which falls annually on June 24^th. They continue to produce blossoms that are gathered throughout the summer months.

Hypericum perforatum has a long history of use in traditional western herbal practices. St. John’s wort helps promote a healthy mood and emotional balance.* Typical preparations of this botanical include steeping as tea, oil infusion, and extract. 

Our St. John’s wort extract is made in small batches using organic flowering aerial portions and organic alcohol. It has a bitter, subtly sour, and aromatic flavor coupled with a sense of astringency in the mouth. The tincture can be taken in water or juice and can be added to herbal teas such as peace tea. St. John’s wort extract also pairs well with ashwagandha extract, oats extract, or skullcap extract, among others.

• 1 oz. and 2 oz. extracts come in amber glass bottles with a dropper.
• 8 oz. size comes in amber glass bottles with a plastic screw cap and do not include a dropper.
• 32 oz. extracts come in plastic bottles with a plastic screw cap.
